Brotheria Rebirth Contest- First time ever

Posted on: Thu Jul 28, 2011 1:07 am     Posted by: achillez

So inorder to revive brotheria and put some motivation in you guys I decided to put a competition based in forums. I do not know how effective this is going to be. Anyways here is the deal.

Every month end the most active member from the forum will get a gift game card worth 5$[

what this means is that the person who posts not only more but meaningful threads will be selected. Winner will be decided by me and i will take inputs from all of you guys. I will take into account both the content and activity level

Every month end a person who inspires to create active members gets a game card worth 10$

What this means is that a person who inspires at least 5 other people to join and if those 5 are active then he is the winner. The people who join should post the name of the person who asked them to join. At the end of the month we will see if any body made it this far. If not no winners

Every month end a person who is able to create a clan in NEW game with 10 NEW active members will get a 20$ giftcard

What this means is the person has to go to new game create a clan and recruit 10 new active members. Shifting of current members from one game to another not allowed. As above if there is no such effort and achievement from any one, no winners will be there. If there are more than one person , he who made the better organized clan will win it.

What I would like to add is, the activity level refers to both in game as well as forum. The winners will be decided subjectively. I have enough experience to see if a person is active and striving to grow our beloved community. so dont be worried. There is no strict hard and fast rule here. If you deserve to win you will, sometimes even if the necessarily numbers are not met.

From today onwards this competition takes effect. Prizes will be distributed every month end. The first contest winner will be announced august 30 2011. If this seems to generate some interest will conduct it again.

The prize reward i can even send to you by paypal if you have one. Or i can split it up so as to buy cards and stuff for the benefit of the clan or clan members as he chooses. I mean with the reward money you can organize your own intra clan event. Or you can use for your own personal need.

For eg: suppose shadow was able to create a new clan in say dekaron or something, he brings in 10 new active members in forum and game. He can win the 25$ prize. He can request for 5 5$ gamehi cards and use those 5 to conduct 5 different intra clan events in his new clan.

There is no sponsorship or any thing for this competition. All the prizes are out of my own earnings. So play fair to any new members out there. I know none of the players i know would try funny stuff.

Like i said gifts and prizes are the only thing to motivate players these days i guess since ideology and lecture doesnt work :)

Tactic & Formations for CW.

im gonna start work on coming out with tactics and formations that we can use for CW, does not matter if cw team is not from the same squad. ill try to make 4 sets of formations and assign codes for ease of communication(based on Alpha, Bravo, Charlie and Public. although mayb bravo dun need so much..i think they got more teamwork then the other 2 squads). but to do this i need 3 things: 1) Des, possible for u to try and make a list of ppl not in squad who u think can CW? 2) the ppl whos name are in it+current squad members MUST practice these formations, we have multi-player training rooms so no reason we cant unless...yr telling me ijji didnt put bot enemies -.- 3) i can only start this after feb. i still got exams...

let me know yr thoughts. and if majority agrees, then after i get the non-squad players list, i will put up a thread where ALL list players and current squad members MUST list down their STREGHTS and WEAKNESS(meaning, can u clutch? wat classes are u most comfortable and uncomfortable with? which classes yr best at?
(best class doesnt always mean comfortable class)

also would like to point out, (although some might already know), CW successes are higher if we think b4 entering, communicate(mumble OR radio) and most importantly, PLAY WITH EACH OTHER OFTEN . that way, formations come naturally and we can play much better.

NOTE: THIS IS NOT A JOKE. DO NOT POST ANYTHING IRRELEVANT AS IF THIS WORKS, OTHER BROTHERHOOD FPS CLANS CAN USE AS THEIR REFERENCE IF INTERESTED. :pro

Dragunov SVD Guide

DRAGUNOV SVD STATS:
(pre-mod)

Damage: 86
Range: 60
Accuracy: 91
Stability: 35
Mobility: 18
ROF: 28
Ammo: 10

(post mod)
Damage: 86
Range: 59
Accuracy: 91
Stability: 38
Mobility: 15
ROF: 33
Ammo: 10

Snayperskaya Vintovka Dragunova-Sniper Rifle "Dragunov"; sounds so nice isn't it? Or its a mouthful so we'll be calling the Dragunov "SVD" for the duration of this guide. The SVD is a Russian rifle chambered in the Soviet 7.62X54 mm round. Note I did not say "sniper rifle", because originally the SVD is not meant to be one, rather, it is designed to increase the effective range of infantry squads, i.e. support weapon. Something like the M14EBR.

Now, that's exactly how you use the SVD in AVA; you do not hang behind like those heavy TPG or FRF2 users. Instead, you go with the Riflemen and Pointmen, taking care not to be in the vanguard, nor in the rearguard. In other words, you rush with the SVD. If you try to stay back like normal sniper rifle users, you'd obliterated unless you have hax or super-human aim.

Why? The Dragunov lacks range and long range accuracy. Sometimes you would think that you have scored a headshot at long range, but nope. The bullet missed that tiny target, and now that sniper is shooting at you. Plus, although the Dragunov packs a punch at close ranges, due to the poor range it quickly looses out to those beyond 20 metres. As a comparison, while you only need one shot to kill a sniper at 10 metres, you would need 3-5 hits to kill a sniper at 30 metres.

Advantages:

Ultra-fast ROF
Good damage
Controllable recoil
Perfect moveshot

Disadvantages:
Too fast ROF
Heavy recoil
Strange reticle
Extremely hard to use in Demo

SVD Mods:
Lightweight Barrel
Weight Grip
Fast Reaction Stock
Rapid Fire Mechanism
(Quick Scope optional)

That is practically the ONLY way to mod your SVD without me laughing at your fail mod. The mod focuses on ROF and stability, giving the already good SVD moveshot to a near-perfect level. There is no way you can miss your shot while moving unless that was deliberate. Jumpshooting, while not recommended, is good, giving only 5 instability bars.

Alright, so you got the mods, let's see what they do. + 5 rate of fire. That's sweet. Now your Dragunov and shoot as fast as a SPAS-12. +3 stability. Okay. This mod is essential for giving you that perfect moveshot. It does little to lower down the recoil though. -1 range. Uh-oh. That one decreases the already poor range of the SVD! But then judging from the range you will normally be using that is one elementary worry. -3 mobility..seriously, who cares about mobility?

Alright. So we have the mods, the tactics and the knowledge of the weapon. All we need now is to use it on the field.

For a start, I recommend you to start using this weapon in AI modes. There, you learn to shoot the weapon. Take it easy, do not spam your shots, especially in long range. Learn to control the recoil. One trick, is to strafe left and right a few steps repeatedly and drag your mouse while shooting, causing the reticle to "drag" towards the target again and again. Once you make a habit of doing so, it would be hard to miss a target since essentially you would be waiting for your reticle to reach the target, which is far easier than manually moving your reticle. Unfortunately, this trick would sometimes cause you to get stuck on some objects. Using this way, you will be able to make the recoil work for you.

For the first few days after your proud acquirement of the SVD, do not attempt shooting rapidly. I recommend that you start shooting rapidly after...well...after you start to subconciously do so. I'm serious. Sooner or later your mind will start to do so even without you commanding it. This however does not mean for you to go full-auto! Instead, you should be tapping twice in quick succession. With practice, you will be able to kill rapidly.

Do not be afraid to jump around while shooting. The accuracy should be good enough to land you hits up to mid range.

That sums it all up. Now all you need to do is to get a SVD and get pwned in your first few matches. Then, after you mastered the SVD, pwn them back. But I warn you: It isn't easy.

12-2 see how much potential this weapon packs if wielded properly (+ some camping [volky camps too!])

*note to Destrucko: put up the Soviet Union flag instead of the Russian Federation one.
