Brotheria Rebirth Contest- First time ever

So inorder to revive brotheria and put some motivation in you guys I decided to put a competition based in forums. I do not know how effective this is going to be. Anyways here is the deal.

Every month end the most active member from the forum will get a gift game card worth 5$[

what this means is that the person who posts not only more but meaningful threads will be selected. Winner will be decided by me and i will take inputs from all of you guys. I will take into account both the content and activity level

Every month end a person who inspires to create active members gets a game card worth 10$

What this means is that a person who inspires at least 5 other people to join and if those 5 are active then he is the winner. The people who join should post the name of the person who asked them to join. At the end of the month we will see if any body made it this far. If not no winners

Every month end a person who is able to create a clan in NEW game with 10 NEW active members will get a 20$ giftcard

What this means is the person has to go to new game create a clan and recruit 10 new active members. Shifting of current members from one game to another not allowed. As above if there is no such effort and achievement from any one, no winners will be there. If there are more than one person , he who made the better organized clan will win it.

What I would like to add is, the activity level refers to both in game as well as forum. The winners will be decided subjectively. I have enough experience to see if a person is active and striving to grow our beloved community. so dont be worried. There is no strict hard and fast rule here. If you deserve to win you will, sometimes even if the necessarily numbers are not met.

From today onwards this competition takes effect. Prizes will be distributed every month end. The first contest winner will be announced august 30 2011. If this seems to generate some interest will conduct it again.

The prize reward i can even send to you by paypal if you have one. Or i can split it up so as to buy cards and stuff for the benefit of the clan or clan members as he chooses. I mean with the reward money you can organize your own intra clan event. Or you can use for your own personal need.

For eg: suppose shadow was able to create a new clan in say dekaron or something, he brings in 10 new active members in forum and game. He can win the 25$ prize. He can request for 5 5$ gamehi cards and use those 5 to conduct 5 different intra clan events in his new clan.

There is no sponsorship or any thing for this competition. All the prizes are out of my own earnings. So play fair to any new members out there. I know none of the players i know would try funny stuff.

Like i said gifts and prizes are the only thing to motivate players these days i guess since ideology and lecture doesnt work :)

Larc's Abysmal Labyrinth Guide and Rules

Each Labyrinth run will be conducted in a round. A round meaning each member provides their own key of the same type (i.e. 4 Person party-4 runs=1 round)

For instance: Silver Lab Run

Each of 4 people brings a key and we do 4 consecutive runs of the labyrinth. This ensures maximum number of seals. Also silver keys give the special bonus of a gold key. So in other words, 1 round=16 gold keys collectively speaking, since each person gets 4 gold keys by the end of 4 successful runs.

Simply put:

1) Bring your own Key, unless other party is cool with them not having one/can spot
2) Have coins to use and buff fish as needed
3) Be prepared for the lab (gearwise, level etc)

This is a quick reference of the seals (the cost is the same for all weapons)

Gold-Silver-Black-Ashy respectively

what is Labyrinth?

A boss rush mode. Every time stages the game will ask you to hit ready to continue or leave the lab.
Click continue fast or the consequences will be dire...

Heres an example run of Black key. Please bear with the funky music

Where can I find Keys?

Typically any boss stage that is level 40 and 60ish (Depending on key) Favorites seem to be Wreck Gate and Frozen Swamp for Silver and Lurid Swamp for black key. Ashy key can drop in all the earlier boss stage such has as Sandy Town, Heavenl Cloud to be name a few. While it is possible they can drop from midboss, the boss drops more often.

How much luck is good for key hunting?
300+ luck because this makes it so midboss drops 2 items and highboss drops 3 items (current maximum)

How many X seals do I get per successful run?
About 35+ for gold key. I think its a little lower for the other ones.

How long is a lab run?
Depends on which and also how much damage your party is capable of dealing. Unfier title for later lab is
highly recommended

Rough estimates:

Ashy- 10-15min (30 stages)
Black- 10-15 min (40 Stages)
Silver- 20-25 min (50 stages)
Gold- 25 min+ (50 Stages)

What are good metas/classes to use in Labyrinth:

While there is no best class. Here are some that have been quite effective in labyrinth. First the most obvious, the bowman with Passive burst and rapid shot and dual shot buffs makes very short work of any boss, even gold lab bosses in 4 person party In combination with gunner this is very effective. For Mage invoker is a good choice, for its constantly firing meta. Swordman, assassin seems to be a safe choice, although more experimentation if required. Lastly for Summoner, while Shaman would be the meta of boss-killing choice, another acceptable alternative would be Druid even though it was nerfed although scorewise has a tough time keeping up with the superior Invoker meta.

The key to a good meta is to pick one that has the fastest firing rate and constant damage.

Bosses to look out for (subject to update with memory)

Some bosses are have very dangerous attacks and are infamous for gobbling up precious heart points. These should be hit with everything you got :threat so they die quickly

Ashy-
Black-
Silver- Alflang
Gold- Alflang, Underpalace Boss, Temple Cave Boss 3, Center Port Boss

How do I get more critical rate and damage for labyrinth?

In labyrinth it is a key to have a good balance between critical rate and damage. To achieve more rate the
fish buff can be used. Dex is used for NCR, Int for SCR. Str for NCD, Charm for SCD. Gearwise you can enchant glove, shoes, weapon and belt with Skill Rate or Normal Rate. (11% per for NCR (Level 20 NCR enchant) , 10.6% per for Lvl 17 SCR enchant)
*Pure Essence is required to get 17 and beyond, too hard to obtain~

NCR Max: 51%
SCR: 100% (It can exceed 100% but thats just pointless)
Silver Trout-5% Skill Rate Increase
Blue Armuchi-5% Normal Critical Rate Increase (For Meta)

Does fruit work in labyrinth?

Tested and it does work if you willing to shell out the gcash to get fruits of preservation =p

Should I continue or not continue the labyrinth?
Every 10 floors you are given that option. It is far better to go all or nothing in most cases. Especially in Silver labyrinth, the prize for clearing it is the seals and the gold key. However if you do choose to stop or not do consider the following:
-Does my party have enough coins/lives to beat the lab/go on another 10 floors
-Has all the major threatening bosses been cleared? Alfang dead? Fresei and sand bosses roasted?
-Is the swordy still in good health? Am I able to clear it if the sword dies with current damage output?

Tips of Survival:
-Charge your utlimate using spacebar between bosses
-On easier boss fights, drag on the battle on purpose to recover skill bars for harder bosses
-Do not be stingy on using meta and ulti, but use strategically
-Meta and Ulti can be used both defensively and offensively
-Be wary metamoprh and some ultis cause temporarily blindness to other players, do not use if put others at risk
-Summoner's Ultimate sucks in bullets like a blackhole, Do it far far away from your teammates please
-Pay attention to who has the top score! The boss homing bullets, etc will target that char. Stay away from them!

Class changes: The risks and rewards

Can someone tell me about the class changes? I'm lvl 13 now, so I'm almost high enough level to switch class to another basic class. And before I change from Wizard to Sorcerer, I'd like to know what a class change does exactly.

What I understand from the game is that you get access to the skills of the second class, while retaining access to your old skills. You can't level up your old skills anymore though.

Does that cover it, or is there more I should know about? And should I switch to Sorcerer or Mage?

Thanks in advance!
